A planting day is planned for this Saturday 4th June. I would like an indication of who is able to assist with the planting and/or carrying plants to the people who are doing the planting. When I have an idea of numbers and who is will be assisting I will email regarding where to meet and what time etc. There are 3 locations for the planting – 2 adjacent sites overlooking Sandy Bay (on the lower portion of the properties near the recent slip), around the wetland above Maori Garden Bay (Hester/Mark Brown) property, and on the DOC Reserve at the end on Woody Bay Road and along the front of the 2 adjacent properties to the east).
The plants will be delivered to the island on Friday (by about 1pm) and the other part of the project that I would like assistance with, is getting the plants (1200) from the wharf to as close to where they will be planted as possible. A tractor and trailer would be ideal. Please indicate whether you are able to bring a sharp spade(s) – the area has been sprayed about 5 weeks ago and the locations marked with a bamboo stake.
